Description: This lesson will discuss the steps to planning nutritious, creditable menus for the CACFP. It will also include information on how to make menus “Eat Smart” by making simple substitutions to already prepared menus.

• Take a brief look at meal components and the CACFP meal pattern
• List tips and resources for meal planning in the child care setting
• Share ideas for keeping meals fun
• Walk you through the steps of preparing a nutritious menu
